2010 CEO Pay

CEO pay from the Wall Street Journal.  Phillipe Dauman of Viacom leads the table with $84 million for 2010.   I am sure he's good at what he does, but $84 million does seem to be an awful lot of money.

  1. It's amazing to me how some of the most deserving folks are at the bottom of the list. I think folks that started the firm are usually deserving. The bottom of the list includes, Steve Jobs, Michael Dell, Warren Buffett, and Jeff Bezos. At zero dollars total comp, I think Vikram Pandit may still be overpaid.
Of course, another amazing compensation situation is how NC State manages to hire a new basketball coach for twice the pay of the old coach and an incedible amount of more than $1 million per year, while the state is also cutting K-12 education by 10% elsewhere resulting in teachers making $40-60k losing their jobs. Strange priorities we have in North Carolina?
